Half Time draw

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Half time draw at the Wigan match, it set a new record for tickets sold on the day of the match.

We can only apologise to the regular participants who were unable to obtain their ticket at the match as the unprecedented overwhelming demand, not seen since we started the draw, left us without any tickets left to sell by about 2.40pm.

A colourful character, Norman went on to represent Northern Ireland in the 1958 World Cup finals.

This is a tribute and poignant reminder of times gone by,

Chris will be in the club shop both before and after this weekends match against Bradford City to sign then book and fans may like to go in and speak to Chris about their memories of Norman and acquire their personal copy of this piece of Town history with a forward by Harry Gregg

Annual General meeting – A brief summary

We held our meeting ahead of the match against Hereford.

Roger Bunce, the Chairman welcomed the attendees and then asked for a minutes reflection for Iris Higgs who passed away during the previous season and whose presence is sadly missed. (For those fans that haven't visited The Legends lounge, her famous match worn shirt adorned with badges, is now been framed and is mounted near the entrance.)

Roger then went on to say that he would be reflecting on another successful year for the Supporters Club which had once again been able to support the centre of excellence trip to Northern Ireland with a donation of £10000. Whilst fund raising income income was slightly down on the promotion chasing season the year before £35000 against £37000, it had been achieved against the background of a relegation season on the field. This lack of league points during that season, was the sole reason for the impact on the pounds for points initiative. However, on the flip side, the half time draw paid record prize money for a season which was remarkable given the time the team went without winning a game especially at home.

After expenses ( e.g. 50/50 draw prizes) the Supporters Club still made overall contribution to the Football club of around £20000, including a number of ground improvements, benefiting fans in general and also directly, by subsidising the Supporters coach travel on the long trip to Carlisle for that match.

The committee stood for re-election en bloc and we are grateful that those in attendance supported their re-election unanimously. Marc Walters who was co-opted after the loss of Iris, was ratified as a full member.

Roger also acknowledged the work of Mavis Knight, who stood down at the end of the season and thanked her for all of her work with particular emphasis on the the pounds for points initiative and end of season dinner. The players performances during the season certainly didn't reward Mavis for all the hard work she put in recruiting contributors to the fund. Thankfully, although Mavis is no longer a committee member she will still be striving hard with the pounds for points during the coming season and we are very grateful for her continued support and contribution in this respect.

With vacancies on the committee we were delighted to be approached by Mick Castle and Michael Watkins in the weeks leading up to the meeting and who were appointed to the committee after members ratified their appointment at the meeting. Welcome both and we are look forward to your input and assistance during the coming months.

Roger outlined the recruitment leaflet that is to be launched soon and confirmed membership remained open for the coming season and thanked all those that contribute in many ways to the club. From half time draw and scratch card sellers, those who participate and are involved in pounds for points, the members and of course all fans who support our initiatives

We are also grateful to Nick Watkins and his team at the football club and many thanks to Nick who took time to attend the meeting and answer questions from those gathered.

50 /50 Draw. Important information for the Southampton match

The good news is that the 50/50 draw will be operating at this match, but see below

The great win at Bristol City has resulted in the game coming around very quickly and with the Bank holiday this weekend, it has not been possible to produce tickets for this game, with “Southampton” printed on them.

We will therefore be using the tickets originally printed for the game with Barnet for the Southampton match on Tuesday. Therefore, if you notice “Barnet” on the ticket following your purchase, please do not worry – it will be valid for the Southampton match

Subsequently, a reprint of tickets ahead of the Barnet match will be arranged with an entirely different colour design to normal, to distinguish it from this Tuesday's sales.

Thank you to every one who participates in the draw, your support is very much appreciated.

STFC Supporters Club.

Of the two goals scored at Tranmere the one scored in the 38th minute added another unique number to the "Bingoal"  - see in the" how to join section" for the full list.

These numbers may be used on the Bingoal card sent to members with their membership card. Free, this "game" pays £100 to the member who crosses all their numbers on the card.  If no winner is found this season, the prize fund rolls over and next season'sprize will be £200.
